Before & After - Post Production
Who doesn't love a before & after transformation?
When I shot this for Jue Let, the goal wasn’t just to capture a cocktail — it was to reflect the feeling of their space. Warm. Nostalgic. A little 70s dinner party energy. Slightly imperfect in a way that feels human.
The adjustments here are subtle :
– Straightening the stem so the eye can rest
– Removing small distractions that pulled focus
– Warming the reds to feel richer and more tactile
– Softening contrast so it feels less digital and more printed
None of it is dramatic. But together, it shifts the mood.
I think this is where my background in marketing quietly influences my photography. I don’t just look at whether an image is “good.” I think about whether it aligns with how the business wants to be experienced.
Not in a salesy way. Just in a storytelling way.
In hospitality especially, the photo is often the first touchpoint. Before someone tastes the cocktail or steps inside, they’re forming an impression.
And sometimes the difference between documentation and storytelling is just a few thoughtful decisions.
When you look at these side by side, which one feels more like an experience to you?
